NO! This is NOT a 'Catholic Church ad'

[ED:  I rarely answer the many emails that I get from my Tin Hat friends.  Most of the stuff is fairly harmless.  When people make false claims about the Church, however, I cannot ignore it.  On this one, I responded, & copied to all those people I thought most likely to think clearly. The original email that I got is at the bottom.]

Dear [Uncle Fester]:

This a good ad.  I've gotten in many times since I first saw it this spring by email from all my friends who share your sentiments.  We Catholics are a very powerful -- and very independent -- voting bloc.  There's a lot of money riding on this election.  Some people stopped at nothing before.  Some will stop at nothing now.  So, we all need to be mindful and diligent, always on our guard, setting always good example, to avoid manipulating or deceiving others.

You sent me this copy of the ad with this subject line: 

"Catholic Church Ad -
MUST WATCH and FORWARD!!"  

This most definitely is NOT a 'Catholic Church ad'.  

No one should forward it to anyone as if it is, because that's dishonest.

This is an advertising agency's video, http://www.creative-lab.com/ with the Youtube user name "creativelab7".  The actual video shows clearly who paid for this ad.  A group of individual Catholics set up a private 501c3 'educational' PAC  (like Crossroads GPS) and paid an advertising company to push their personal politics.  That's their right and their duty as good Catholic laity.  They're in Broward:  http://www.cc2w.org/about-us/

(There is an ad on their page for a genuine registered Catholic charity (Cross Catholic Outreach, headquartered in the Diocese of Palm Beach and associated with Cor Unuum) but that charity has nothing to do with them that I can see except that they are kind enough to support and promote it.)

Don't cooperate with evil.  If something is true, it will win out on its own merits and there is no need to cheat, dissemble, or lie.  Tell the whole truth, all the time and check twice before hitting 'forward'!
